Our goal is to teach skills for a lifetime of healthy cooking. In each class we challenge students—from the novice to the most experienced—to experience new foods as we introduce them to approachable culinary techniques. They leave with the confidence to adapt and repeat our recipes at home.

History

Ruby Chard started as a specialty catering company in 1996. From the beginning we offered cooking and baking classes. These classes allowed us to share our knowledge and love of good food with our customers. After seven terrific years in business, we decided to devote ourselves full-time to teaching. This is how Ruby Chard Catering became Ruby Chard Cooking Classes.

Ruby Chard is a member of the beet family—a robust vegetable whose broad green leaves and colorful red stems are enjoyed equally. We chose our name because it symbolizes our commitment to using wholesome ingredients, our support of local markets and our philosophy that says good food (just as a good education) should be fresh, creative and fun!
